Sculpture and paintings by artist Spanos Panayiotis
Spanos was born in Cyprus in 1976. First contact with metal came in a very young age,
when he started working in the manufacture of hand made bespoke metal light fittings. Subsequently,
he studied design, anatomy, ceramics and sculpture in the laboratory of the famous sculptor
Pampos Michlis. This experience added to his repertoire and opened many new sources of inspiration.
After several years of experimentation and development, Spanos opened his own Gallery-Laboratory
on Agkyras street, in centre of Limassol.
Since that time, his rapidly growing recognition among artistic circles and private collectors
as an intriguing and creative artist has helped build an outstanding reputation in Cyprus.
All his works reflect the man and his deep emotions. His imagination combined with his experience
and talent have so far created many original, impressive sculptures and inspired paintings.
The results of his on-going experimentations with material and form and colour have produced
some stunning works of art.
In addition to his own Gallery-Laboratory, Spanos is currently displaying his works in Nicosia
and has participated in several group exhibitions all over Cyprus. His work is also now becoming
a valuable part in several discerning private art collections.
